MR Program

In 1997, Futures began providing Representative Payee services to 3 individuals.

Today we are providing services to over 100 individuals and the numbers continue to grow.  More than six million people who receive monthly Social Security or Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits, or both, need someone to help them manage their money.  When a person needs this kind of help,  the Social Security Administration,  after a careful investigation,  appoints a relative, friend or another interested party to serve as the beneficiary's "Representative Payee".

About 25% of the people receiving SSI, and about 10% of the people who get Social Security have payees.  Almost all children under the age of 18 who receive any type of Social Security benefits have payees

School Support Program

• Establish and maintain an interest bearing account for each individual.

• Keep informed of the individuals needs to determine how their benefits can be best used for personal care and well being.

• Assure all their monthly bills are paid on time.

• Assist individuals in obtaining the maximum amount of benefits they are eligible to receive.

• Meet with individuals and/or families as needed to discuss their finances and personal needs.

• Serve as a contact for these individuals with outside agencies/creditors.

• Keep the Social Security Office informed of any changes that may affect an individuals benefits.

• Complete required reports and attend appointments for the Social Security Office.
